Rest & Reset

Small-group wellness retreats in Portugal & Sweden

The gentlest weeks we run: a light daily rhythm of optional sessions, long meals and free afternoons, for guests who mostly need to stop.

Every retreat below has fixed dates, a published price per person and a group of up to 12 guests, with an on-site host as well as the facilitators.

Upcoming dates

What is a small-group wellness retreat?

A SOLARA rest retreat is four slow nights with almost no schedule: one optional gentle class or movement session each morning, an easy guided walk most afternoons and long meals together. Slow December runs by the Atlantic in Portugal and Lakeside Reset by a Swedish lake. Both take up to 12 guests.

Who it suits

  • You are tired and want rest more than activity
  • You like quiet, simple routines and long meals
  • You enjoy swimming and being near water
  • You want a short break of four nights

Who it doesn't suit

  • You want a full daily programme or structured workshops
  • You are looking for treatment or recovery support; these weeks are a holiday, not therapy

Level and fitness

Both rest weeks are beginner friendly and need no experience or particular fitness. Every session is optional, and guided walks are short: 3 to 6 km on the beach in Portugal and 4 to 7 km through the forest in Sweden.

Questions

How much is actually scheduled?

Very little. There is one optional class or movement session each morning and a short guided walk most afternoons. Slow December adds a short planning session for the new year; on Lakeside Reset, Elin Lindqvist runs a cooking demonstration. Everything else is free time.

Which rest retreats are coming up?

Slow December (3 to 7 December 2026) at Monte da Luz in Portugal is fully booked, with a waitlist open. Lakeside Reset (15 to 19 July 2027) at Sjövik Lodge in Värmland has 10 of its 12 places left. Both include 11 meals over four nights.

What does a rest retreat cost?

Lakeside Reset starts at €990 per person in a shared twin, or €920 if you book by 28 February 2027; a private lakeside cabin is €1,390 (€1,290 early). Slow December was from €1,150. Both have a €350 deposit, with the balance due 60 days before arrival.

What is Sweden like in July?

Light and slow. It stays light late, so bring an eye mask, plus layers for cool evenings, swimwear and insect repellent. Sauna and canoes are included, and the lodge is alcohol-free during retreats. The minibus from Arvika costs €30 each way.
